Giant Peruvian White Corn (maíz blanco) heirloom seeds — pack of 70. This Andes dent corn produces exceptionally large white kernels and long ears (about 10–14 inches) on tall stalks that commonly reach 12–18 feet. High ear placement and a strong root system give better wind and drought resistance. Ideal for hominy, masa harina, posole, corn flour, baking, grits, soups, and traditional Andean dishes. Typical germination ~85%.


How to grow: Plant after danger of frost when soil is at least 60°F. Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds 1–1.5 inches deep, spacing 24–36 inches between plants with rows 30–42 inches apart; or plant 2–3 seeds per hill and thin to the strongest plant. Water consistently during establishment and tasseling, reduce water as ears mature. Side-dress nitrogen at knee-high stage for strong stalks. Harvest fresh sweet ears early, or dry mature ears for masa, hominy, and seed saving. To save seed, select healthy, isolated plants, dry fully, and store in a cool, dry place.
